Cybersecurity regularly features in today’s headlines, highlighting threats such as cybercrime, ransomware, espionage, and attacks on critical infrastructure. These incidents raise pressing questions about the risks in cyberspace, the evolution of technologies, and the growing geopolitical tensions.

What are the principal cybersecurity risks? How do they affect development, human rights, and international peace? What roles do national frameworks, international law, diplomacy, and multilateral and multistakeholder cooperation play in addressing these challenges, and how effective are they?

This course examines cybersecurity as a global policy issue, focusing on risks, governance frameworks, cybercrime, and its impact on international peace and security.
