Strengthening Biological Weapons Convention Participation Through Education
The BWC Advanced Education Course (BWCedu) comprises a five-month advanced education programme under the umbrella of the UNIDIR Academy, in which 25 participants will gain in-depth knowledge of the Convention, the diplomatic landscape, and relevant scientific advancements. This will be achieved through diverse learning methods, including online lectures, a week-long interactive in-person session in Geneva and real-time engagement through webinars with experts and Working Group delegates. Course participants will have access to a collection of resources and information to support independent study on aspects of the BWC.
The comprehensive programme focuses on the current Working Group process and potential future mechanisms arising from the 10th Review Conference or an earlier Special Conference deciding on specific actions. It prepares participants for ongoing engagement in the evolving framework of the BWC, empowering them to contribute to informed decision-making. Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will become part of the community of UNIDIR BWC Fellows.
