Whether digital trade becomes a vehicle for shared prosperity depends on the frameworks that govern it and the voices that shape them.
This course equips trade negotiators, diplomats, and policy professionals with the tools to engage effectively in this fast-moving landscape. You will explore the foundations of digital trade and develop practical strategies to navigate international frameworks, from multilateral negotiations to preferential agreements and domestic regulatory design. With a strong focus on the priorities of developing and least developed countries, the course strengthens both analytical and strategic skills needed to understand evolving digital trade rules, assess their implications for national development and contribute meaningfully to shaping them.
The Digital Trade blended course is jointly offered by Diplo, the International Trade Centre (ITC), United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and the Geneva Internet Platform (GIP), in partnership with the World Trade Organization (WTO) for Geneva-based staff of permanent missions, international organisations and other trade practitioners from developing countries and LDCs.
